This afternoon the Lexis Noosa students learnt some Muay Thai moves.
The students walked down to Pinaroo Park where the lesson was going to take place. First of all the teacher showed us some moves and quickly ran through the background of the sports so that we could get an understanding of what Muay Thai Martial Arts is and the history behind it.
We love doing these kinds of activities so that the students get to learn about different cultures!

I’m writing to you 4 years after I left Noosa because Lexis changed my life forever and I wanted to share this with you. At school I met a wonderful girl from Japan, who became my wife just 2 years later. This is me together with my wife Keiko Okuyama at our wedding party in Japan, and 3 other former Lexis students (Miiku Sako and Ayane Kawagoshi from Japan & Donghoon Lee from South Korea).
Now they are happy parents with a gorgeous baby girl, Yuna.

Welcome Alexey and Alisa, our new Lexis Noosa students from Russia. Let’s see how their life in Noosa is so far.
Is it your first time in Noosa?
Alexey:This is my third time here in Australia, but I have never been to Noosa. We chose this beautiful destination because of the Junior Program (TAP). I wanted the best experience for my daughter and where else would we enjoy the sunny and warm winter than in Noosa.
Are you happy with your classes?
Alexey:My interest has always been studying English. Being in General English class is absolutely enjoyable for me. Alisa has English class only in the morning and then the real fun begins by joining into different activities such as surfing, tennis, Noosa tour, kayaking, sand volleyball, hiking, etc.
Where are you staying at?
Alexey:I am renting an apartment with my daughter that is only 5 minutes walk from Lexis. It was very easy to find this beautiful and affordable place. I love that everything is in a walking distance.
Do you recommend Lexis Noosa to anyone who is thinking about studying English?
Alexey:It was absolutely the best choice! We are having the best time here with my daughter and I am sure we will come back in the future.
Andres comes from Chillán and Fernanda from Concepción, in Chile and they are spending their honeymoon at Lexis Noosa – here are their stories….
“Hi my name is Fernanda and I am a Dentist in Chile. I like my profession and also sports, my Husband and I both train for triathlons. The idea to come to Australia started 7 months ago. I want to specialise in Periodontics, so will study a master’s degree here in Australia. The first step for me was to improve my English.”
“Hello I am Andres and I am a Business Engineer. I am very interested in learning English and also experiencing sports in Australia. In Chile I raced dirt bikes and now I am in Australia, I would like to participate in the Sunshine Coast half-marathon. My study goal is to improve my English, so I can also apply for a master’s degree. I would like to study project management.”
“We are currently studying General English at Lexis Noosa for 12 weeks and will finish with 4 weeks in the IELTS preparation course. Our teachers are great and there are a lot of outdoor activities in Noosa and it is an ideal place to train for the triathlon. We found Lexis Noosa after searching for a place where we can study English and also enjoy the lifestyle and where there was a half-marathon event. We were surprised to see the school in Noosa was so big and a lot nicer than other International schools we have studied at in England and Germany. We hope to stay in Australia for a few years and go back to Chile with some nice experiences and knowledge”.
Welcome to our 19 new students from Brazil, Japan, Korea, Switzerland, Italy, France and Taiwan. They are here to study General English, Cambridge FCE and IELTS. Included is Eliott from France who is doing the Teenage Activity Programme with Surfing.
There was excitement everywhere with new Cambridge and General English students starting at Lexis Noosa today. After a gruelling morning of tests and interviews, the students finally got to relax at a welcome BBQ hosted by Kamel Bar and Restaurant and Nomads Backpackers Noosa. The new Cambridge students had a quick orientation whilst sipping on complimentary Aussie beer. Afterwards the the rest of the school joined to meet the new students and to enjoy some sausages, salad and bread. And of course… beer! It was a wonderful afternoon and the students ended their first day in high spirits!
