It’s not every day that you have the privilege to indulge in some fine Australian wine at your English College. Not only that but to also be served by your fellow students who are practicing their skills ready for the ready Hospitality world.

Well, that is exactly what happened this afternoon at Lexis Noosa.

The students were treated to an afternoon of laughter, entertainment and of course wine, all served by the Customer Service Class run by Maria.

If you had any questions about the wine, the students were ready to answer with a wealth of knowledge.

Now, having worked in the Hospitality industry myself for a number of years, I am happy to report that the service at Lexis Noosa from the Customer Service Students is phenomenal.

Astronomical even.

Meet Student Philipp Hänggi

My Stay in Noosa by Philipp Hänggi

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Phillip recently studied at Lexis Noosa both in general English and in an Accelerate Small Group Class. He kindly agreed to share his experiences with us. This is his story.

My stay in Noosa

My name is Philipp and I live in Switzerland. I decided to brush up on my English before starting a new job in Switzerland. I took some General English followed by an Accelerated Small Group Class. The combination of both courses was excellent. Both for meeting new exciting people and improving the language.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Phillip in his small group class

I chose Noosa because of its nature, beautiful long beaches and because I prefer a charming town rather than a crowded city.

When I arrived in Noosa, I was even more impressed than I had expected by how green it was everywhere. It also means that there are always colourful birds twittering and bush turkeys sometimes with cute chicks around. No wonder that the bush turkey is the symbolic animal of Noosa.

I stayed at a homestay to get the experience how Aussies live and to improve my English even more. It was a very valuable decision which I really enjoyed.

There are plenty of activities people can do in and around Noosa. After school, I usually went surfing which is a must-do in Noosa for anyone of any skill from beginner to expert.

I also went paragliding many times to fly alongside the beach or over the gorgeous National Park to experience a wonderful sunset from a bird’s eye view. That was definitively one of my greatest highlights in Australia.

A bit less adventurous but no less interesting was jogging or walking through the National Park and looking for some Koalas which were hiding in the trees.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

With teacher Kerri and classmate Vanessa

Another amazing thing was simply the remarkable friendliness of the local people. It did not take long to get invited for a drink on the beach or even for a barbeque at their house.

That kindness is already reason enough to come back to Australia.

I am already looking forward to planning my next adventure Down Under and visiting some old friends.

Suzie and students 2

Suzie and students

Sayaka Nagano and Mika Aruga met in 2008 whilst studying at Lexis English Noosa in teacher Suzies class. They are still best friends and returned to Noosa to celebrate ten years since their wonderful student days here. There were tears and smiles when they discovered that Suzie was still teaching here and it was a beautiful reunion. Sayaka married an Australian and has settled in Sydney working as a Kindy teacher. Mika lives in Tokyo and works as a medical engineer.  They said that they have still kept in touch with many of their international classmates and will never forget their  happy carefree days as a student in Noosa.

Thank you for coming in and sharing your story with us Sayaka and Mika.

Let’s get our Zumba on!

What a great activity to get us through the middle of the week.
