High Tea

The customer service students were back at it again today with a lovely high tea. The treats provided were truly incredible including delicately made teacup biscuits, delicious chicken wraps, and a very cute watermelon echidna. The faces of the customers lit up every time a new plate was brought out.

The customer service students improve in confidence and ability every time they host an activity. They work incredibly hard to use the workplace vocabulary, create an enjoyable atmosphere, and it’s clear the customers appreciate the effort put into the afternoon. They even made conversation cards!

We’re all looking forward to their candle making class next week!

Prisoners and Pups

Group

Today in Michelle’s Documentary option we learned about a program in South Australia where ex-racing Greyhounds are paired with prisoners in Adelaide. The women have 8 weeks to teach these dogs how to be pets so that they can be adopted. Luckily, Michelle’s good friend, Shaunagh, works closely with a Greyhound adoption organisation and has three greyhounds!

She brought them all in to meet the class. One of them, Lockey, went through the program and is now a very well-mannered dog. If you want to watch the documentaries, go to abc.net and look for “Prisoners and pups.”  To meet the pups, visit the Eumundi markets on Saturday, they are always ready for a snuggle!

Balloon Animal Workshop

This afternoon Lexis Noosa students enjoyed a Balloon Animal Workshop run by one of our very own students Junki from the Intermediate A class.

balloon 1

Junki runs Balloon animal workshops for his work back in Japan.

Firstly Junki talked the students through how to make the balloon animals and the history behind them. Then he moved onto the workshop where he demonstrated a step by step tutorial on how to make them.

Hope everyone enjoyed their afternoon. There were definitely many laughs coming from the group this afternoon!

Noosa River Adventures

This afternoon our Lexis Noosa student spend their time exploring the Noosa river.

It is such a beautiful way to explore our Noosa river system and wildlife that live there.

We hope you all enjoyed your afternoon and have a safe and wonderful Australia Day long weekend! See you all on Tuesday 29th January.
