Looking for an activity that’s exciting and entertaining? Than look no further….. We will be showing a movie from our Netflix collection and also supplying some delicious snacks for you all to enjoy.

Meet our awesome-sauce Teacher Sam!

Introducing one of our (best looking) Lexis English Noosa Teachers. SAM THE MAN

We sat down and asked the hard questions to our  English Teacher Sam to find out a little bit more about him.

What Languages do you speak?

I am semi fluent in British English and my Australian English is at an Upper Intermediate Level.

I’ll bet you didn’t know that…

I am a qualified tour cruise operator and work in the heart of Noosa. O’ Captain, My Captain 🙂

What places have you lived in?

Los Angeles, Heathrow Airport, Singapore Airport, Sydney (Everywhere), Adelaide and of course Noosa.

If you weren’t a teacher what would you be?

I would definitely have a career that mixes Entertaining and Language/History. So probably travelling around Europe as a tour guide, partying only once a year 😉

On the weekend you’ll find me?

Working on a boat or contemplating writing my novel underneath a tree in the middle of a park somewhere in the heart of Noosa.

What is Noosa’s best kept secret?

Rumba Wine Bar, somewhere along Hasting Street.

What is your favourite food?

I EAT ANYTHING…

What is your favourite pastime?

Making Gelato for a living.

What is your English tip?

Watch a movie in English without subtitles and write down any words you know or think you know. Before you watch the movie again, see if you can write a brief summary of what happens to each character in the film. Then watch again with subtitles and you’ll probably be quite close with your synopsis.

Particularly, if it is a Superhero Movie.

We hope you enjoyed getting to know Sam one of our Legendary General English Teachers at Lexis English Noosa.

May Activities

Let’s have a look and see what’s planned for the month of May at Lexis English Noosa.

May Calendar

There’s so many activities to do this month, I’m sure you will find something exciting to do! We’ve even thrown in some more free workshops to help you practice your English. We hope you all have a wonderful time with us here at Lexis Noosa and don’t forget to come to reception and sign on for your activities or if you have any questions about the calendar.

Phrasal Verbs – Option Class

In the afternoon option class students learn Phrasal Verbs in contexts. This week we studied phrasal verbs about clothes. The students loved picking out outfits and trying them on! It was difficult to choose a character to act out but everyone had fun learning new vocabulary and grammar.

Maria's class

Strange, Stranger, Strangest….. Who does it better?

FCE classes comparing notes after their grammar session today……. who really studies more than the other???

And who is the most eccentric teacher – Anne or Michelle???

Grammar Workshop: Reported Speech

Grammar Workshop

Lize told me that she really enjoys teaching reported speech. She insisted on me going to the weekly Grammar Workshop. She said that she always had a great group of keen students who wanted to improve their grammar skills.

The students reported that Lize is a phenomenal grammar teacher and that they thoroughly enjoy her grammar guidance every Thursday. They proclaimed that she always makes different grammar points easier to understand and put into practice. They regretted that the workshop wasn’t everyday.

If you are not confident in Grammar or feel that you simply want to fine tune grammar skills – make sure you go to the Grammar Workshops on Thursday in Room 5.
