Our customer service students were hard at work again this afternoon serving up a variety of Australian craft beers. The students had a quick lesson on the language needed to discuss different the different appearances, aromas, tastes, and palates. They quickly dived into their work preparing the tables with food platters, activities and surveys. The customers were greeted by the friendly front of house staff as they arrived and shown to their designated tables.
As the samples were poured, the customers were told some information about each of the beers which were further accompanied by a tasting menu prepared by the customer service students.
We even had our own security guard who took care of all the intruders.
The customers had a lot of fun tasting the Australian beers and had many different opinions on each one. Well done to all involved. Can’t wait for the wine tasting!
This afternoon the Kindai High School students and General English students made their way down to Noosa Main Beach for a game or two of beach soccer.
This week our Kindai students were treated to a very special Valentine’s Day event. Maria’s wonderful customer service class prepared a lovely high tea for the teens. The afternoon tea was complete with beautifully made cucumber sandwiches, scones, lamingtons, hot and iced tea.
The front of house staff were in charge of greeting our Kindai students and taking them to their table.
The teens were waited upon by the lovely waiters and waitresses who provided them with high-quality service.
The students were encouraged to relax and enjoy the many games laid out on the tables as their drink orders were taken. Delicious refreshments were soon made and brought out.
No high tea would be complete without a few sweet treats like Aussie lamingtons and jam on scones.
The customer service students even went as far as to organise a lucky door prize. Four lucky boys were the winners of some beautifully packaged Valentine’s chocolate which they were kind enough to share with the rest of their table.
All in all the event was extremely successful and the feedback was fantastic. It’s sure to be a Valentine’s Day the Kindai students will never forget.

Phillip recently studied at Lexis Noosa both in general English and in an Accelerate Small Group Class. He kindly agreed to share his experiences with us. This is his story.
My stay in Noosa
My name is Philipp and I live in Switzerland. I decided to brush up on my English before starting a new job in Switzerland. I took some General English followed by an Accelerated Small Group Class. The combination of both courses was excellent. Both for meeting new exciting people and improving the language.
I chose Noosa because of its nature, beautiful long beaches and because I prefer a charming town rather than a crowded city.
When I arrived in Noosa, I was even more impressed than I had expected by how green it was everywhere. It also means that there are always colourful birds twittering and bush turkeys sometimes with cute chicks around. No wonder that the bush turkey is the symbolic animal of Noosa.
I stayed at a homestay to get the experience how Aussies live and to improve my English even more. It was a very valuable decision which I really enjoyed.
There are plenty of activities people can do in and around Noosa. After school, I usually went surfing which is a must-do in Noosa for anyone of any skill from beginner to expert.
I also went paragliding many times to fly alongside the beach or over the gorgeous National Park to experience a wonderful sunset from a bird’s eye view. That was definitively one of my greatest highlights in Australia.
A bit less adventurous but no less interesting was jogging or walking through the National Park and looking for some Koalas which were hiding in the trees.
Another amazing thing was simply the remarkable friendliness of the local people. It did not take long to get invited for a drink on the beach or even for a barbeque at their house.
That kindness is already reason enough to come back to Australia.
I am already looking forward to planning my next adventure Down Under and visiting some old friends.
This afternoon our Lexis Noosa student spend their time exploring the Noosa river.
It is such a beautiful way to explore our Noosa river system and wildlife that live there.
We hope you all enjoyed your afternoon and have a safe and wonderful Australia Day long weekend! See you all on Tuesday 29th January.
