Meet our awesome-sauce Teacher Sam!

Introducing one of our (best looking) Lexis English Noosa Teachers. SAM THE MAN

We sat down and asked the hard questions to our  English Teacher Sam to find out a little bit more about him.

What Languages do you speak?

I am semi fluent in British English and my Australian English is at an Upper Intermediate Level.

I’ll bet you didn’t know that…

I am a qualified tour cruise operator and work in the heart of Noosa. O’ Captain, My Captain 🙂

What places have you lived in?

Los Angeles, Heathrow Airport, Singapore Airport, Sydney (Everywhere), Adelaide and of course Noosa.

If you weren’t a teacher what would you be?

I would definitely have a career that mixes Entertaining and Language/History. So probably travelling around Europe as a tour guide, partying only once a year 😉

On the weekend you’ll find me?

Working on a boat or contemplating writing my novel underneath a tree in the middle of a park somewhere in the heart of Noosa.

What is Noosa’s best kept secret?

Rumba Wine Bar, somewhere along Hasting Street.

What is your favourite food?

I EAT ANYTHING…

What is your favourite pastime?

Making Gelato for a living.

What is your English tip?

Watch a movie in English without subtitles and write down any words you know or think you know. Before you watch the movie again, see if you can write a brief summary of what happens to each character in the film. Then watch again with subtitles and you’ll probably be quite close with your synopsis.

Particularly, if it is a Superhero Movie.

We hope you enjoyed getting to know Sam one of our Legendary General English Teachers at Lexis English Noosa.

Ping Pong Competition!

The Aussie food tasting was a huge success. The students got to taste musk sticks, macadamias, sausage rolls, Caramello Koalas, Lamingtons, Anzac Buscuits, tim tams and i’m sure you can guess all of the reactions to the horrid Vegemite!

Congratulations to Lucas who came 1st in our ping pong competition and Patrick who came 2nd!

Hope you all had a great afternoon.

Soccer @ the beach!

This afternoon Lexis Noosa students made their way down to Noosa Main Beach where they enjoyed a game of beach soccer. After a few days of unwelcome rain everyone was super excited to get down to the beach.

What a lovely afternoon it turned out to be. The sun even started shinning!

Halloween Competition

Congratulations to Rebecca from Lexis Noosa’s Upper Intermediate B class who won the Halloween competition!

Halloween

Rebecca had to guess how many lollies were in the big jar. The answer was 247 but Rebecca was the closest guess at 249. The prize was of course the big glass of lollies and a boat trip for herself and 7 friends.

Blinded English Engagement

It was a very noisy afternoon in the halls of Lexis Noosa with the Listen and Talk Option class.

Sam's Class

With one student completely blind and the other in full command. There was sure to be carnage.

But with the skilled listening and speaking skills of our amazing students. The class managed to complete all tasks with little casualties 🙂

Beach Soccer

What a beautiful afternoon to play a game of beach soccer. The sun was shining, shirts off & sandy feet. What could be better than that after a long hard day at school learning English.

Volleyball

This afternoon Lexis Noosa students spent the afternoon playing volleyball at a local Backpackers called KB’s in the Noosa Junction. Beautiful weather, great company and best of all practicing their English!

Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team’s court under organized rules.
