Welcome to all of our new students starting today at Lexis Noosa!

We have 8 new general English students starting today. Bartosz from Poland, Hina and Aya from Japan, Jeong Min and Sangyeop from Korea, Silvio and Vanessa from Switzerland and Leonid from Russia.

18.6.18 Cambridge

And then we have 7 new students doing our Cambridge course for the next 10 weeks. We have Alisson, Fabienne and Joel from Switzerland, Aida from SPain, Hiroko from Japan, Aaron from Malaysia and Josephine from France.

With our new students we decided to play a game or two of Jenga and have some delicious afternoon tea. Yum Yum!! What a wonderful way to relax and make new friends.

   We hope you all had a wonderful time getting to know one another and hope you enjoy your time at Lexis Noosa!

Wine and Cheese Tasting

Lexis Noosa students spent the afternoon trying 6 different wines from the Australian and New Zealand region. What a way to spend the afternoon….. Delicious!!!!

Brown Brothers Moscato

One of Australia’s favourite Moscatos, the Brown Brothers Moscato is a delightful reminder of the warmer months with its aromas of musk and freshly crushed grapes. Wonderfully spritzy on the palate, this aromatic sweet white has abundant flavours of sherbet and crunchy tropical fruit. Enjoy chilled with great friends.

Hardys Stamp of Australia Sauvignon Blanc

What better way to enjoy one of Australia’s favourite white wines that with an additional 33% when compared to a normal size bottle? All the fresh, vibrant tropical fruit aromas and flavours are there to enjoy along with a zippy mouth feel and refreshing aftertaste that belies this exceptional value Sauvignon Blanc.

Crafters Union Pinot Gris

This wine is full of natural fresh and fruity flavours. Settled in cool temperatures, the wine fermented for 1 month, using specially selected yeast strains to encourage complexity on the palate. Aromas of Nashi pear, spice, and nectarine with flavours of fresh citrus, melon and apple leading to a silky, off dry finish.

Brown Brothers Moscato Rosa

From sweet wine experts, Brown Brothers’ Moscato Rosa is salmon pink in colour with Turkish Delight and citrus blossom on the nose. Sweet fruit palate with flavours of rosewater and fresh grapes, and a light spritz which adds appealing zip and zing.

Jacobs Creek Merlot

A fresh contemporary style of Merlot from Jacob’s Creek produces a luscious medium bodied wine that has ripe plum and berry fruit flavours in harmony with soft grape and oak tannins giving length and texture.

Hardys Stamp of Australia Shiraz

Hardys Stamp Shiraz is soft, generous and easy drinking. This Shiraz has attractive plummy aromas with a touch of spice and the palate is round and   fruity with a soft finish.

Cheesy Afternoon

Both afternoon and morning classes had the opportunity to try some award winning cheeses from all around Australia.

Cheese #1 – MERSEY VALLEY CHEDDAR

Mersey Valley is Australia’s best loved vintage club cheddar! Mersey Valley vintage club cheddar was created over 35 years ago. Mersey Valley Classic has an extra strong bite, which is balanced with a crumbly melt-in your mouth texture. Mersey Valley Classic is a very versatile cheese that is perfect for a platter, as a snacking cheese or for use in cooking.

Cheese #2 – TRILOGY CLUB CHEDDAR

This trilogy club cheese takes vintage cheddar and pairs it with Mediterranean-inspired ingredients like summery herbs and sundried tomatoes. Just one nibble will have you hooked. The South Cape Trilogy range includes 3 cheeses, each cleverly combined with a selection of unique flavours.

Cheese #3 – JINDI TRIPLE CREAM BRIE

As a dessert cheese, the Jindi Triple Cream is very rich and full flavoured. Its butter-like texture melts in your mouth and the taste lingers for some time. Beneath the white mould bloom lies a glorious golden interior.

Cheese #4 – KING ISLAND BLUE CHEESE

Blue vein cheese is a unique category of mould ripened cheese as it ripens from the interior, as opposed to the exterior (like soft white cheese). Blue vein has a strong tangy flavour, a pungent aroma and a smooth and creamy texture.

Cheese #5 – TASMANIAN HERITAGE CAMAMBERT

Tasmanian Heritage Camembert has a wonderfully satisfying smooth, mild and delicate flavour. Its rind has a dense, even white mould covering, with a slight mushroom aroma, revealing a silky yet firm and pale centre.

Our lucky Lexis Noosa students were able to try 5 different types cheeses from our region and see how it compares to their countries.

Cheese Number One:

JINDI TRIPLE CREAM BRIE
