Racing journalist and legend Tony Bourke, will be guest speaker….
Celebrated writer Tony Bourke has reported on the Australian racing scene for more than 40 years as a journalist at leading Melbourne newspaper, The Age. Affectionately known as ‘King’ given his knack at selecting a winning quadrella, Bourke covered more than 50 Melbourne Cups, witnessing the early days of ‘Cups King’ Bart Cummings, the first ‘international raiders’ and the three successive wins of Makybe Diva. Recognised with numerous journalism awards throughout his career, Bourke is a two-time winner of the Victoria Racing Club’s Bert Wolf Media Award for an outstanding contribution to racing.
Bourke continues to share his love of the track with journalists from across the globe at the annual Melbourne Cup Carnival at Flemington.
