Volleyball Fun At Nomads Noosa

The Lexis Noosa volleyball activity is always popular and it was no different on Wednesday.

The usual Brazilian boys were ready to take on team Swiss, team France and the Cucumbers. France blitzed the Swiss team to head straight into the finals. As usual the Brazilian boys won their match with ease. The final between Brazil and France was a tough match but Brazil just scraped by to win by two points. Congratulations ‘Cruzeiro’ team.

Lexis Noosa Welcomes A New Addition

Lexis Noosa welcomes our new senior teacher Zoe Barrowcliffe!

Zoe taught at Noosa back in the Global Village days before teaching at our Brisbane school and then travelling overseas to teach in Spain. Since returning she has been teaching at the Lexis Sunshine Coast campus. Zoe brings a wealth of experience both in general and Cambridge programs as well as an understanding of the industry in Australia and overseas. We are sure she will be a great addition to the Lexis Noosa staff. Please say hello and introduce yourself to Zoe when you see her around school.

Lexis Noosa Students Get A Taste Of Aussie

Monday’s activity at Lexis Noosa was Aussie Games!

Students got a taste of what it is like to be in Australia. They were shown the traditional ‘Aussie’ games that are played for fun on Australia Day each year. The first round was the Tim Tam relay where students had to eat a whole pack of traditional Australian chocolate biscuits. Then it was thong throwing where you throw a flip-flop/sandal into a bucket. And the final round was a orginal game by Cindy the activity coordinator called kinky Koala. Students put on kinky underwear, hold a koala under their arm and have to catch mini koalas in the kinky underwear. Congratulations to Sophie, Franziska, Alessandra and Lisa who were the winning team and won a $60 colesmyer voucher.

Welcome To The New Lexis Noosa Students

Spotted: Two Furry Noosa Locals

The clouds parted for a glorious sunny afternoon at Noosa National Park!

The Noosa National Park was busy with tourists, locals, surfers keen to catch some waves and Lexis Noosa students who were very keen to see a koala in the wild. They walked from Little Cove to Tea Tree Bay taking photos. One student said ‘Now I really feel like I’m in Australia’ as she soaked up the amazing scenery. Without even trying they managed to spot not one, but two Koalas taking a nap in the trees. They must have been out enjoying the afternoon sun as well. For the Lexis Noosa students who didn’t join us for the activity, don’t worry… I’m sure there will be many more opportunities to spot some Koalas when you visit the National Park this weekend.

Our Local Barista Visits Lexis Students In Switzerland!

Patrick works next door to Lexis Noosa and has adopted the name of ‘the best coffee guy in Noosa’ by our students!

During the day he brews the students the best coffee, and at night he dances the night away with them. He is popular with all the students and went to visit a few recently in Switzerland. Jenny and Flavia were Lexis Noosa students at the end of 2010. He showed them the sights of Noosa and now they have returned the favour in Switzerland!

Hanging Ten At Noosa Surf Festival

There was a buzz in the air on Noosa Main Beach today!

The CAE classes and Chiyoda High School were making the most of their last Friday In Noosa on the main beach. Some went for a swim, others relaxed on the grass whilst others watched the international surfers compete for the titles.

Bon Voyage And Good Luck To Our CAE Students!

Lexis Noosa CAE students are ready for their final exam tomorrow.

It was half happiness and half sadness as the CAE students completed their last class. Students were reminiscing about the past 3 months. Jenny from Switzerland said ‘It was so intense and now it’s over. The time went so quick. I had such a great time in Noosa and met so many friends that I will keep in contact with forever. I am sad to go’. Jose from Spain said, ‘I came not knowing what to expect and all of a sudden I had a great life here. I was coming to class during the day, studying and got a great job at a tapas bar at night. But now I am looking forward to a holiday and seeing more of Australia!’. They ended their last day with a BBQ by Noosa Main Beach overlooking the famous Noosa Surfing Festival! Party on dudes… and good luck in your future endeavours… your positive presence will be missed at school!

Bingo Time!

Students squeezed into the TV Room and even sat in the kitchen to play the famous Lexis Bingo!

It started off easy with students only needing one line to win bingo! But next round for two lines had 4 people yelling ‘bingo’! They divided two of the chocolate lovers prizes which left us short of bingo time. One more game and it was over as quickly as it started. Next month is Beer Bingo!

Our Lexis Noosa Champion

Lexis Noosa staff member Jess Tye competed in the State Masters Swimming Championship on the weekend…

And came home with two silver medals!
Congratulations to our champ… you are gold in our eyes!

Table Tennis Tournament

After all the table tennis doubles competition and games every day after school, it was time to finally crown two people the ‘table tennis champions of Lexis Noosa’.

There were twelve teams who competed for the title. Some where the regular table tennis boys, some where students just passing by and signed up for what was a table tennis beating of a lifetime. Nonetheless, everyone had fun and the winners seem very content with their victory and new-found title. Arnold and Hiro ‘Lexis Noosa Table Tennis Champions’ beat Nelson and Jonatas 21 to 11. Rematch!

They received their list of things to find and take pictures of and they ran out of the school to find as much as they could in 30 minutes. They took pictures pretending to be a Koala in a tree, collected world maps, coins and other crazy stuff. Everyone put in a great effort but the Brazilians won the race. Congratulations Lucas, Tiago, Misha, Ricardo and Fred who won a $50 colesmyer gift card.

CPE Brain Teaser for the week

So Bamboozled…ever felt that way???

It means to deceive by trickery; to cajole by confusing the senses; to hoax; to mystify. The CPE class often feels that way….

But….not this Saturday when they have their exam!!!  For the first time it will be held at the Noosa Campus itself.  No more traveling to Brisbane…Yeeha!!!

Good Luck to my intrepid students..and enjoy the party afterwards.
