We Love the Weather Here

This time of year brings warm sunny days and cool nights, perfect weather for almost anything, and the campus is buzzing with our lovely students soaking up the ideal conditions!

Courageous Effort Pius

Pius Keller received a heart transplant in Switzerland almost five years ago.  He arrived at GV Noosa one month ago after competing in the transplant games on the Gold Coast.

In August this year, Pius completed a 5km cycling race and a 20km ride.  Although he found it challenging in the windy conditions, he completed both of his events.  Celebrating his 54th birthday last week, Pius also completed a 4 week general English course here at GV Noosa.

Before he returns to his homeland, Pius will see some more of Australia, starting with Sydney and then Ayers Rock and Adelaide.  His English has improved during his stay here and he hopes to use his new language skills during his travels.

Best wishes Pius from all the staff and students at GV Noosa

GV Sponsors Rotary Club Charity Golf Day

Bruno, Kiyo, Don and Garry were lucky enough to represent Global Village Noosa at this popular event held annually at Noosa Springs Golf Club.

Bruno Toledo had to earn his place in the team by winning both rounds of our putting competition held in the common room in recent weeks.  He got to play on one of the best golf courses in Australia, and saw his first wild Kangaroos and even a Koala.  Team GV did not win the event but a great time was had by all involved.  Many thanks to Noosa Springs Golf Club and the Rotary Club for organising such a great day!

GV Noosa Courtyard, a great place for study and socialising

On sunny days like today, the courtyard is a great place to sit and relax, read over those papers again, or just catch up with classmates.  It also offers some shelter from the strong winds we have been experiencing.

Did you know that FRASER ISLAND is only 2 hours from Noosa?

Global Village runs 3-day self-drive camping trips to the island EVERY FRIDAY.

Experience the largest and most beautiful sand island in the world.  Drive along 75-mile beach, swim in stunning Lake McKenzie, spot whales, dingoes and manta rays.  Spend the first night at a beach campsite, and the second night at an Aboriginal campsite with a campfire, hot showers and didgeridoo lessons.

Cars seat 8 people, and need at least one driver, who must be over 21.  Only $199 per person, including all camping and cooking equipment, fees, permits and ferry tickets.

Meet people and have fun on Fraser.  Go to the activities desk for more information and to make your booking.
