Manaf Al Tayar came back this week to say “hi and thanks’ for helping him reach his goal of attending university in Australia.
When Manaf arrived at GV Noosa he could only speak basic English and could not write at all. After eight months in the general English program he arrived in Sydney to study in an EAP course and was asked to write a 600 word essay on his first day.
“I did not believe that it would be so difficult and I was so grateful to the teachers here at Noosa that they had advised me and prepared me so well,” Manaf said. “
“I learnt so much because there are so few Saudi’s in Noosa and because the teachers and other students were so kind. Everyone helps each other, it is like a big family. I also had a wonderful homestay mother, it felt like a second home. Can you believe that at the end of my EAP 2 course I was able to write a 900 word essay on Business Administration and I also gave a 20 minute power point presentation on Media Censorship”.
Manaf will go to university in Sydney and says that his dream has come true through hard work and the support of all the staff at GV Noosa. Well done Manaf, we are so proud of you.
The fun does not just stop after the classes & activities have commenced at GV Noosa.

Hiromi says that although she only needed to get 5.5 she achieved a 6 thanks to her teachers. She says that Anjali and Ellen prepared her for the IELTS test in the best possible way and she loved every minute of her time here in Noosa. She hopes that the accountancy course will lead to a good job and a permanent visa for Australia.
We are sorry to say goodbye to Hiromi, but we know we will see her again as she will study in Brisbane which is less than 2 hours away and she has many friends here in Noosa to visit. Good Luck Hiromi!
Our 20 new TAP students arrived safely at GV Noosa yesterday! This included students from France, Germany, Belgium, Japan, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia!

Today we say goodbye to Carmen Seiz and her beautiful daughters Adina and Kristina.
Carmen and her daughters arrived in Noosa at the end of January to study English and experience Australian culture. Carmen studied in our Cambridge Advanced Examination course and then our Cambridge Proficiency Examination class, whilst her daughters attended Peregian Community College.
What did you most enjoy about your studies?
Carmen: The teachers. Rachel, Wendy and Kimm are wonderful teachers who work hard to make their classes interesting and ensure that their students get the skills they need to pass the Cambridge exams. Having such a small group for CPE was wonderful because we developed a ‘camaraderie and trust’ that meant many wonderful discussions.
What are your favourite places in Noosa?
Carmen: Main Beach and Mount Tinbeerwah are our two favourite places. Our favourite restaurant is ‘Ma Mensa” in Hastings Street, because we love Italian food but we also enjoyed the curries at ‘The Magic of India’ in Noosaville.
What would you recommend doing whilst in Noosa?
Carmen: There are so many excursions to do that it is hard to say. The girls loved the ‘Ginger Factory’ and of course ‘Australia Zoo’. We also traveled north to see the turtles hatching and south to the Gold coast to experience the amusement parks there.
