Christmas Party at Lexis Noosa!

Today here at Lexis Noosa we celebrated our annual end of year Christmas Party. With the carols blasting, the classes took in turns belting out there favorite Christmas tunes, with the help of their teachers. With the Christmas cheer going around, the students also enjoyed some sparkling wine and Christmas treats (made by Ange!), which gave the mood a jolly feel. The combination of wine and end of year celebrations made for a wild party in the Common room! Merry Christmas to all students and teachers, and we will see you again come New Years Eve! xmas

Christmas is nearly in Noosa!

“It’s a magic moment when Noosa’s famous street gently slips into the summer festive season.”

On November 30, Hastings Street will come alive in true Christmas spirit when Santa and his helpers drop by to light the Christmas treet. Shining brightly inthe night sky with more than 1000 lights that change colour, the celebration of Christmas spirit is one that draws crowds from across the coast. (From Noosa News, Tuesday November 27, 2012).

Lexis Noosa Kicks A Goal – (to be modest… several goals)!

Lexis Noosa and Lexis Sunshine Coast came head to head in a game of futsal at Noosa Leisure Centre yesterday afternoon.

It was shirts off and game on for our Lexis Noosa team as the whistle blew for the first half of the game. Lexis Sunshine Coast kicked the first goal after 5 minutes and cheers were roaring from the massive Sunshine Coast supporters who travelled an hour in a bus to watch their team. It was not long after that Noosa started to show their superb futsul skills and kicked goal after goal. Half time saw Noosa on 7 and Sunshine Coast on 2. There was still hope for Sunshine Coast to catch up as the Saudi boys finally turned up to play!

The last half included some in/unintentional trips, slams, bumps, hot heads and amazing saves by both goal keepers. Sunshine Coast won with the show of supporters but Noosa won the game! The final score was Noosa 10 and Sunshine Coast 3. The afterparty took place overlooking the gorgeous Noosa River at Noosa Yacht Club with some jugs of beer provided courtesy of Lexis English. Congratulations to our Lexis Noosa Futsul Team… we are so proud of you!

Welcome To The Lexis English Students Of 2012

Today was the first English classes for 2012 at Lexis English Noosa and we celebrated with a free welcome BBQ at Nomads KB’s Bar + Bistro.

The current students seemed quite refreshed after a week off and started their first class with smiles all-round. The new students seemed eager to kick off the new year in the warm Noosa weather as opposed to the snow and minus zero degrees back home. After morning exams for the new Cambridge and General English classes and a catch up on study for existing students, it was time for a well-earned BBQ and beer at the students favourite Noosa hang out – KBs Bar + Bistro. It was a chance for existing students to meet new students and to celebrate the start of what will be another awesome year at Lexis English Noosa… let the 2012 adventure begin!

And The Winner Is…

The winners of the Lexis English ‘groom your classroom’ Christmas competition were announced in the courtyard at lunchtime today.

Room 2: Annette’s Pre Intermediate C

Best Christmas Spirit:

Don’t forget that we have a Christmas party this Friday from 12.30pm and Christmas carols in the common room at 1pm. Drinks and snacks provided. Dress in Christmas colours. Lexis English Noosa… the decorations are done… now it’s time to get really festive!!!

FREE TOUR – Looking For Wild Kangaroos

Tribal Travel is offering a free tour to all Global Village students … looking for wild kangaroos.

Kangaroos are the iconic symbol of Australia, and even though many people may have seen them at a zoo, nothing is quite like the experience of spotting them in the wild.

This weird and wonderful animal is most easily spotted at dawn and dusk in large grassy fields, paddocks and golf courses.  Take advantage of local knowledge and visit the areas where kangaroos are most prominently seen around Noosa.

If you’d like to book on this free tour THIS THURSDAY, just head to the Tribal Travel shop to put your name down.  Or speak to one of the lovely Tribal Travel girls when they come into your school.

Please note:  There is no guarantee of spotting kangaroos, but we’ll try and it’ll be fun!

So Saucy!!!

GV Noosa got a little saucy today at the Valentine’s Day Barbecue.  Prizes were up for grabs for the first two people who would kiss in front of everybody with sauce on their lips for five whole seconds.

Lara (Brazilian) and Jimmy (French) were the first couple to step forward for the challenge.  Their first kiss was not long enough so they were asked to do it again.  They won a surf lesson and an Australian Zoo pass courtesy of Tribal Travel.

Emilio (Spanish) was really keen to get a prize but it took him a little longer to find a daring candidate, soon enough he found Thays (Brazilian) and the two of them sauce kissed for five seconds and won themselves a trip to Underwater World.

Congratulations to our saucy Valentine’s.  Hopefully tonight will bring everybody love and happiness!
